Ryan Jarvis is an independent investigative journalist specialising in criminal justice, policing, prisons, information rights, surveillance and public accountability.
He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree with honours and the Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) qualification. His professional background includes around six years working across criminal justice advocacy, legal work and data protection.

Ryan has used freedom of information and public records as investigative tools since 2018. This work has involved identifying patterns across public bodies, obtaining official records and data, challenging refusals and pursuing information through internal review and regulatory routes where appropriate. It now forms an important part of his investigative journalism.
